San Diego’s Best

Dear readers,

Are you ready to show some love to your favorite San Diego County businesses? We’re excited to launch our 28th San Diego’s Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll, recognizing the people, places and companies our readers choose as the best of the best.

By participating in the 2024 poll, you’re showing your support for the local businesses, goods and services that make our community shine. Many businesses have experienced big challenges over the past year such as inflation, labor shortages, storm damage and more. We couldn’t be prouder to help you recognize these bright stars.

The nomination phase begins March 3 and it’s a crucial part of the process. During this phase, you’ll nominate the places, people, goods and services that you believe are San Diego’s Best. The top 5 nominees in each category will advance to the voting phase.

As we have done over the past 28 years, we’ve added some new categories specifically requested by our readers. You can nominate your favorites in multiple categories. After the nominations are in, we tally and verify them, then open the voting phase. It is your voices — and votes — that determine the winners.

As senior director of advertising for the Union-Tribune, I’m especially honored to carry on this important tradition. There’s nothing more fun and meaningful than supporting local businesses.

We expect this year to be our biggest poll ever, with more than 200 categories spanning a wide range of businesses and services.
